Dr Obara graduated with a Master’s degree of Public Health (MPH) Department of Community Health, University of Nairobi in 1999 and MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), University of Nairobi in 1988. Rosemary is currently Lake Region Economic Block (LREB), Health Pillar Lead and Director Strategy, Policy and Research for the 14 counties of Western Kenya. Since 1988, she has been a Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya Certificate and obtained official recognition as a Public Health Specialist. She is a member of Kenya Medical Association, Kenya Medical Women’s Association since 1989. She has served in different positions in the medical ministry in the Kenya Government including participating in the formulation of the Health Sector Strategic and Investment Plan for Kenya. Dr Obara has provided leadership in project management in many health programs including being Lead Consultant in Community Based Health Insurance (CBHI) Baseline Survey assignment for SOS Children’s Villages Kenya, Supervision and mentorship. She is also a founding director for Rehema Hospice and Clinic and its supervising doctor, a palliative care/hospice center in rural western Kenya. BACK
