Assisted by a cadre of healthcare workers called Community Health Promoters (CHPs), family caregivers are trained to manage patients where they are most comfortable. In Kenya, most diseases could have better outcomes if diagnosed early. Always Mercy's support of Rehema Hospice and Clinic will help break the cycle of undiagnosed or untreated disease by supporting home-based assessment and care and connecting clients to existing medical services.
To further the palliative care education of the community health promoters, Deaconess Pamela used grants of over $50,000 over the past 5 years, helping to increase these promoters' ability to provide care in their clients' homes. Your help is needed to continue and expand this mission. BACK
